Excellence

A gentleman was walking by the streets of India and he stumble at a temple where sculptor was carving an idol of God. He noticed that the similar idol was lying on the floor.
He asked the sculptor “Do you need same idols for this temple?” Sculptor was so into his work, he replied to the gentleman without even looking at him “We need only one, but the first idol got damaged by me while giving finishing touch”.
The gentleman keenly examined the idol but noticed not notice any obvious damage. With confused state of mind he asked the sculptor,” Where is the damage?
Sculptor still busy with his carving and said “There is a scratch on the nose of the idol”.
“Where this statue will be placed?” inquires the gentleman.  The sculptor replied that is will placed on the tall pillar of 20 feet height.
Gentleman –“Then no one will know about the scratch.”
Sculptor looks up to the Gentleman and replied “I will know it…”
The desire to be perfect is exclusive of the fact whether someone else appreciates it or not. Excellence comes from inside and it is for our own satisfaction and efficiency
