I wanted to fly and She Gave me Wings

It really sounds lame now but I was a girl with many phobias. I was afraid of staying alone. I was afraid of driving bicycle and I was afraid of swimming. Now I am an independent girl, who is capable of driving not only bicycle but also two-wheeler and four-wheeler. I was the girl afraid of staying alone and now I run my business completely on my own. I had serious water phobia till my teenage and now I am trying to overcome this as well.
This journey from lame girl with lots of fears to the confident Independent women was full of bumps. I was able to complete this journey only because of one person that is my Mom. My mom is independent women and she always wanted me to be like her, but I was completely dependent on her.  My day used to start with her and ends with her. She used to wake me up, make my lunch, drop me school and pick me up. I never thought I can live a single day without her.
My mom always knew that she cannot be with me all the time and then she started making me self reliant. My mom made me go to school on my own. When I asked her many times to drop me she refused saying that she is busy now. This was her way to make me independent and it worked well.
She left me the hostel with a heavy heart, as she knew this is the best decision for my career. Those hostel days were the best days of my life. I got a good education, I became independent and I had loads of fun. It was my Mom’s upbringing which made me realize how to live life to the fullest.
Society expects a lot from girls such perfection, observation, dedication, communication, management, intelligence, home making and many more. The way my Mom carved my life made me the perfect girl. When I got married I was able to manage my personal as well as professional life with proper balance. I manage my home very well, I can cook very well and I can work very well only because of things taught by mother.
I fell that raising a girl child is more challenging and I hope that one day I can also raise my child as efficiently as my Mom. She was not just parent for me but she is my teacher, my friend and my God.
My Mom once said to me that life not like a story which starts with “Once upon a time” and ends with “Happily ever after”, but life is journey starting with “Welcome to the world of roller coaster” and ends with “you are lucky to survive this ride”.
